Tracy is a BSD parent, BSD alumna, and long-serving Bellevue-based youth education advocate and PTSA volunteer. She understands the numbers and cares deeply for the people they impact. Tracy's Vision
for Bellevue Schools
Academic Excellence and Closing Learning Gaps
While BSD attracts families due to its academic excellence, not all students experience it equally. We must meet students where they are and provide targeted support, including early literacy, high impact tutoring, expanded Advanced Learning opportunities and community engagement for support services. By putting these strategies into action, we can build a school environment where every student feels supported and has the chance to thrive and reach their full potential.
Rebuild Trust through Financial Oversight
To ensure every student in BSD has access to opportunity, support, and success, we must make strategic choices with our limited resources. Effective financial oversight is essential to safeguard our diverse and high-quality programming. Tracy’s multi-decade career in accounting equips her with the expertise to provide this oversight, ensuring that every dollar is spent wisely to benefit our students.
Expand Both College and Career Pathways
Our students should graduate ready for the real world. For some, that means college; for others, technical training or entering the workforce. Growing programs like dual credit, STEAM, world languages, and Career and Technical Education (CTE), gives students multiple pathways to success.
Recruit and Retain
Outstanding, Diverse Educators
To reach all our goals, we need to successfully attract and retain top-tier educators who can meet the needs of all students. Since our student body is incredibly diverse, our teaching staff should reflect and embrace that diversity. It is important for students to see themselves reflected in their classroom and community, ensuring students feel a sense of belonging.
